A routine response to a suspected drunk driver in Ohio escalated quickly as a woman repeatedly interrupted cops doing their work and threatened legal action against the county because she had money.

A case from 2023 is garnering attention again as a video posted by the YouTube channel Real Body Cams is going viral. In the video, Clermont County officers are seen responding to a suspected drunk driver call outside a bar in Ohio. Reportedly, a bar staff saw a man passed out in a running vehicle in a parking lot and called the cops.

As cops reached the car, they realized the man had fallen asleep with a foot on the gas pedal. After repeatedly knocking the car window, officers were able to get his attention and asked him to step out of the car. He instantly declined the field sobriety testing.

While under investigation, the driver acknowledged that he had been drinking and smoking marijuana earlier that night. Cops found marijuana and pill bottles in the car. He also admitted that it was his girlfriend’s car and he shouldn’t have been driving. The man fully cooperated with cops as they handcuffed him and put him in a patrol car.

Things escalated when the girlfriend, identified as Kara Fuller, came out of the bar and saw cops searching her car. As soon she stepped out, she started questioning the cops and repeatedly argued that that they needed her permission to search her SUV. She asked the officers:

“What the f*** are you doing? That’s my f***ing car. You didn’t have my f***ing permission.”

The confrontation intensified as Fuller refused to listen to the cops. When asked about the marijuana in the car, Fuller said it was “decriminalized” in Ohio and they can give her a $150 ticket if they want, but that’s no offense.

Initially officers remained calm and asked her multiple times to cooperate with them. They explained to her that the search was lawful and connected to the arrest of her drunk boyfriend. They also added that her vehicle will be towed due to drunk driving.

Meanwhile, Fuller kept insisting her point and at one point even said she had “money” and would sue the officers. She said:

“Because I have money, baby. We’re going to sue the state of Claremont County.”

However, when Fuller refused to listen or reason with them, they arrested her. While they were taking her to the car, Fuller fully resisted and even kicked an officer during the struggle. An officer even warned her and said:

“If you kick again, you’re gonna get hobbled.”

Seeing the footage, many users were left stunned online on how the “drunk” boyfriend reacted much more calmly than Fuller. One said:

“Imagine being drunk, stoned and passed out and still have more common sense than your idiot girlfriend who can’t help herself but to scream, yell and talk herself into a jail cell.”

A second said:

“It’s beyond me how that guy behind the wheel can be so calm, accept responsibility and be somewhat remorseful for his actions and be involved with a woman who is the polar opposite of him.”

A third chimed:

“Her drunk boyfriend had so much more common sense than she has. Shes an embarrassment to our society.”

The boyfriend’s fate also changed because of Fuller. Cops initially told him that he’ll be freed if he could arrange a sober ride back home. However, after Fuller’s reaction he was taken to police department for a breath test. Meanwhile, Fuller was charged for obstructing official business, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
