Used Chevy Nova With 9/11 Mural Painted On The Body Is Yours For $30 Million

We know you woke up this morning wishing you could find a used 1975 Chevy Nova with an airbrushed mural commemorating 9/11 on it. The good news is such a thing exists. The bad news is you need $30 million to buy it.

The November issue of Hemmings Motor News lists the Nova, dubbed the “9/11 Memorial on Wheels,” with a full-page ad and a humblebrag about all of the governors and senators who have signed the body. The weathered vehicle is said to have “travelled across the U.S. reminding people of the tragedy that took place on 9/11/2001.”

The car’s owner, Richard Lopez, wrote on his blog Memorial On Wheels that he built the car due to a “desire to educate children and parents across the United States by sharing this vehicle with each of them, as a remembrance of the tragedy that we will always remember in hopes that our message of ‘Never Forget’ will touch many lives and help stop the aiding of terrorism in our youth across the nation. It is our mission to honor those that have fallen by traveling with the Memorial on Wheels across America.”

Lopez doesn’t offer any details on the Nova’s technical specs or its provenance, primarily concentrating on the art. He credits airbrush artists Fred Spargo, Jaime Rodriguez, Paul Collins and Nancy Garcia for the design.

The $30 million value he’s asking must have to do with the murals and the autographs of various public officials, because the top book value for a ’75 Nova is about $9,000. The average is about $5,000.

But…

“The price that I am asking cannot be compared to other cars that have sold for millions of dollars, as this 9/11 car has a place in history and will become more valuable with time, as it is a one of a kind,” Lopez said.

If you’ve got $30 million earmarked for a Chevy Nova with 9/11 murals all over it, email [email protected].
