Earlier this week, former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio got into a backstage brawl with another wrestler, with the alleged cause of the brawl being Alberto’s fiancee, WWE wrestler Paige. And with Del Rio having briefly commented on the matter on Twitter, the wrestler who supposedly disrespected Paige has spoken up about the matter, saying that it was all a huge misunderstanding, and that he and Del Rio are now on good terms following the incident.
On Monday, the Inquisitr reported on what looked to be another backstage scuffle for Del Rio, the 39-year-old ex-WWE standout currently wrestling in his home country of Mexico as Alberto el Patron. The wrestler, who was once fired from WWE in 2014 for getting into a physical confrontation with one of the company’s social media workers, had reportedly reacted to a wrestler called Tortuga Ninja Rafy (Ninja Turtle Rafy), who may have touched Paige, thereby offending Alberto Del Rio.
The backstage brawl supposedly resulted in the masked Ninja Turtle Rafy getting “very marked up and in bad shape,” which may have been a result of Del Rio having a size advantage over Rafy. The main source of the account, LuchaBlog , also noted that Alberto Del Rio and Paige were drinking prior to the incident, which took place at an IWRG (International Wrestling Revolution Group) show featuring Alberto’s younger brother Guillermo Rodriguez, a.k.a. El Hijo de Dos Caras.
Just to clarify. If you inappropriately touch my fiancee in front of my face you have to prepare to learn a lesson. #Respect

In the days that followed the incident, Alberto Del Rio took to Twitter to react to the purported fisticuffs, saying on Monday that “if you inappropriately touch my fiancee in front of my face, you have to prepare to learn a lesson.”
Asked for his side on the issue, Ninja Turtle Rafy talked about the supposed Alberto Del Rio backstage brawl that took place over the weekend. The wrestler, who also goes by the ring name Alan Xtreme, said in Spanish that he had merely bumped into Paige and called her “beautiful,” but that was misconstrued by Del Rio as a sign of disrespect. Wrestling Inc posted an English translation of some of Ninja Turtle Rafy’s more important comments, which read as follows:
“I was walking down the stairs, I (bumped into) Paige and I let her pass and said, pasale hermosa (you go ahead, beautiful). I didn’t touch her, but Alberto said to me that calling her beautiful was disrespectful.”
Rafy, who insists that his primary interaction with Paige was to call her “beautiful,” added that he told Del Rio that he wasn’t trying to show disrespect. Alberto then responded by taking off Rafy’s mask, and that was when the Ninja Turtle Rafy vs. Alberto Del Rio backstage brawl took place. Rafy maintained that while he was bruised, the locker room brawl didn’t result in his face getting disfigured, and added that he wasn’t knocked out in the scuffle. Both men then reportedly apologized to each other after they had calmed down.
All in all, Rafy sees what had happened this weekend as a misunderstanding, and still considers Alberto Del Rio as a friend. He also told Mas Lucha TV that he is not planning to file a lawsuit against Del Rio, and that he may be partly responsible “because of his choice of words.”

With the dispute apparently settled, this closes yet another chapter in the often-controversial Alberto and Paige relationship. Alberto Del Rio has yet to comment further on the backstage brawl and his alleged tiff with Ninja Turtle Rafy, but there’s always the chance he will have something more to say on the matter in future interviews.
