An aspiring Ohio nurse has come under the internet’s radar after a body cam footage went viral, showing the woman “obstructing police business.” The footage began with a female police officer approaching a woman in her car. The officer spotted a silver sedan driving with a broken passenger-side headlight, after which she chose to approach the woman in the car who had stopped for gas.

The Ohio officer approached the woman and explained the reason for the stop, stating that she pulled her over because one of her headlights was out. From the very beginning, the officer does not appear to be hostile and asks the woman routine questions. She then asks the woman to show her driver’s license.

However, this is when the situation takes a drastic turn. The woman states that she can’t find her driver’s license and asks the officer if she can get out of the car to inspect the broken headlight. The officer denies the request and asks the woman for her Social Security number. However, the woman quickly turns hostile, demanding to see “what [she’s] getting pulled over for?”

Coincidentally, a similar incident occurred in January 2026 when a 19-year-old girl refused to comply with police officers and persistently asked for the reason why she was stopped and refused to comply with their instructions. In that incident, the officer clarified whether law enforcement is required to immediately disclose the reason for a traffic stop.

“I don’t know where you get your information, but your information is not correct,” the officer said to the girl after arresting her. “What you see on Facebook and TikTok isn’t real life. This is real life. There’s nothing on the books in the State of Washington that states that I have to give you a reason why I stopped you.”

As for the Ohio incident, the woman repeatedly refused to comply and asked to call the police officer’s “supervisor.” After a constant back and forth, the police officer gives a final warning to the woman before calling in other officers and arresting her for “obstructing police business.”  “Well, then, you’re going to be getting out of the vehicle and you’re going to be going in for abstracting official business,” the officer says to the woman. “That’s how we’re going to play.  That’s how you want to play. That’s how we’re going to play it.”

The woman was eventually arrested and charged with obstructing official business, operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, and a secondary OVI charge for a breath alcohol content over the legal limit. After the filing of the case, the woman was further charged with driving under suspension and a minor misdemeanor for failing to have proper headlights turned on.

The woman was sentenced to 180 days (six months) in jail and two years of community control. She also had to pay $941 in fines, court costs, and attorney fees, along with her license being suspended.
