Former child star Taran Noah Smith has been convicted of DUI and drug possession, according to the Daily Mail.

The Inquisitr reported back in February that Smith was picked up by Los Angeles police for drug possession and driving under the influence. The Home Improvement alum was spotted by authorities smoking hash inside his car in the wee hours of the morning.

Taran Noah Smith pleaded guilty to the drug possession charges and no contest to driving under the influence. He is currently scheduled to appear before a judge this June.

Fortunately for the actor, it would appear that he won’t spend any time behind bars. Jam! Showbiz explains that Smith was placed on three years probation for the crimes. He will also have to complete 12-hour program for the DUI and a drug diversion program for the drug possession charge.

Taran Noah Smith has had a stroke of bad luck as of late. In addition to the DUI conviction, Smith recently split with his wife of several years. It would seem the problem began when Smith’s spouse began bringing home strange women.

“She began to bring girls home,” Smith explained. “But if they paid more attention to me than to her, she’d get jealous. Finally, we agreed to have an open marriage. But when I began seeing another girl, Heidi got so mad she broke every dish in the house.”

The divorce lead to a nasty court battle over the couple’s shared company Playfood, which Smith’s wife attempted to transfer to her control.

Smith, who portrayed Randy on the popular 90s sitcom Home Improvement, began working on the television program when he was seven-years-old. However, he decided to end his acting career after the show was canceled several seasons later.
