Police have rescued an infant from a house in Phoenix, Arizona who survived on their own after the mother passed away. The baby was alive despite having no access to food and drinks for several days since the mother’s death.

The police arrived at the particular house following concerned calls from the neighbors as they had not seen the mother in a few days. Upon their arrival, the police looked into the house through the window and observed that a woman was lying there motionless.

The police then entered the house and found that a child was lying, wrapped in a blanket. The baby was miraculously alive despite visibly being  alone for the last few days, without having anything to eat or drink. The infant was then put in a stroller by the officers and immediately medical professionals took over the situation.

Describing the situation, Phoenix Police said, ““Inside the home, they discovered the mother had passed away and her baby was still alive, severely dehydrated and clinging to life. The baby was taken to the hospital in critical condition.” They further added, “We are happy to report the infant’s condition has improved greatly, and they’re expected to survive.”

Phoenix Police spokesperson Sgt. Brian Bower further mentioned in detail what happened, saying, “The mother had passed away while the child was still on the bed still curled up where the mother had left them. It wasn’t learned until well after the fact from doctors and staff at the hospital that if the police officers didn’t immediately provide aid and didn’t immediately go into the apartment, the child may not have survived much longer.”

Bower then went ahead with praising the “smart, immediate actions of the officers as well as the neighbours seeing something unusual and calling in for help.” The arrival of the police on time really helped the baby to survive as if they had come later, the infant could have died.

The Department of Child Safety is now looking after the baby and investigation is also going on regarding the death of the mother. Police have not provided any further details on this and the child’s gender also remains unknown.

It now remains to be seen when there is some concrete information available on the cause of the mother’s death and further details about what exactly happened that led the mother and child to this tragic situation.
