Melania Trump and Donald Trump have been married for two decades now. Many people think Melania is way out of his league. They have a huge age gap and aren’t too present in each other’s lives. However, this seems to be the way Melania wants it to be.
Over the years, she has been absent as the first lady on many occasions. As per experts, this is the first time FLOTUS has maintained such a low profile in the last 80 years.
When Barron was still in school, she had an excuse to stay away to be present for her son. But now that he’s in college, she may be finding ways to keep her life separate. Melania has always lived her life on her own terms. She has no plans to be more available in the future either. Besides, she pops in and out as she likes.
When Trump took office for the second time, her absence was marked by the media. Trump assured everyone that it was for her protection. But the first lady was busy shooting for her Amazon documentary about her life.
The former model is focused on herself and her life, while she doesn’t believe she’s obligated to be a part of the political world. She will only do something if she truly has an interest in it.
When she was asked how she plans to move ahead in the second tenure, her reply was self-centered. She said her first priority is to be a mom and a wife. She even went on to say she has her own thoughts. Moreover she can say yes or no to things as she likes. She may not agree with her husband at times but that’s okay.

This shows she’s her own boss, and Donald has to be okay with that. Melania is focusing on her own life and joins Donald when it’s needed. For instance she went to the Pope’s funeral even when it was her birthday.
She also made an appearance during the signing of the Take It Down Act, which works towards removing unsolicited or AI-generated explicit content from the internet. So, she has taken her responsibilities seriously when they matter the most.
Melania also feels like Trump needs a babysitter at times. That’s why she likes Elon Musk a lot. Since she travels a lot between New York and Palm Beach, she is not around to take care of Donald. One source tells how she’s glad to have a babysitter in Elon as he brings a new mindset to the team, too.

Another way Melania remains in control is how she doesn’t allow too much PDA. We’ve seen how she moves away when Trump tries to kiss her. She sometimes takes back her hand when he tries to hold it. She allows PDA on rare occasions, like how everyone was surprised to see them chatting and smiling while holding hands at the Pope’s funeral.
