Fans of Song Hye-Kyo and her Descendants Of The Sun co-star will probably not see their favorite actors in the upcoming sequel of the Korean drama. The rumor originated when the series’ director PD Lee Eung Bok resigned from the KBS network. In addition to Bok’s resignation, the show’s writer Kim Eun Sok also quit the network.
The news also comes as a disappointment for those rooting for Song Hye-Kyo and Song Joong-Ki’s alleged romance , as it would mean the two will spend less time together. Many fans say that with the new director, writer, and cast, they may turn their back on the upcoming Season 2 in a show of protest.

Other rumors indicated that filming for the sequel has already started even though it has never been officially confirmed. The story will reportedly be no longer centered around Army surgeon Dr. Kang Mo-Yeon, played by Song Hye-Kyo, and Army Captain Yoo Shi-jin, portrayed by Song Joong-Ki.
And while the sequel will retain its title, Descendants Of The Sun , it will be a whole new cast and a completely different storyline. Some rumors even named the possible replacement for both Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo.
The new storyline will reportedly be focused on Sergeant Seo Dae-young (Jin Goo) and Lieutenant Yoon Myung-joo (Kim Ji Won). The reported reason why neither Song Hye-Kyo nor Joong-Ki will star in the sequel is simply because of their busy schedules.
Song Hye-Kyo is undoubtedly enjoying her fame after starring in Descendants Of The Sun , according to Movie News Guide . The 34-year-old actress attributes her popularity not only to her acting talents and good looks but also to the romance rumors with Song Joong-Ki.

And while the two have neither confirmed nor denied their relationship, Song Joong-Ki’s fans cannot but envy Song Hye-Kyo for all those love scenes she shared with her co-star in the first season. But many don’t even realize what the actress has been through, as Song Hye-Kyo had a near-death experience shortly after her birth. The little girl apparently had serious health issues, and her condition was getting worse. Only after she had fully recovered on February 26, 1982 (more than three months after her birth), did her parents register her birth.
But that wasn’t the only struggle in Song Hye-Kyo’s early life, as she was raised by a single mother. Her parents separated and divorced when she was a small child, and it was her mother who decided to move with Hye-Kyo to Seoul.

Another interesting detail about Song Hye-Kyo’s life is that she started out as a model. After attending a number of catwalks and even winning first place in the SunKyung Smart Model Contest, she began trying herself in dramas and sitcoms.
Many of Song Hye-Kyo’s fans may not know this, but the actress is a social worker. She has been significantly involved in charity and volunteering, but she never talks about it. Her fans would agree that Song Hye-Kyo is most certainly not the type of celebrity that cannot do charity or any selfless work without hiring dozens of photographers, journalists, reporters, and bloggers first.
As for Song Hye-Kyo’s love life, the actress dated actor Lee Byung-Hun for nearly a year, from 2003 to 2004. Afterward, the actress dated her Worlds Within co-star Hyun Bin, but it didn’t work out either, and they broke up in March 2011.
