Song Joong-Ki Says Song Hye Kyo Is ‘The Best Partner’ Amid Romance Rumors

Song Joong-Ki has won everyone’s hearts at the Seoul Drama Awards 2016, according to the Asian Times. The 30-year-old Descendants of the Sun star won the Outstanding Korean Actor Award on Thursday.

Song Joong-Ki’s victory comes amid news that the Korean actor and his Descendants of the Sun co-star Song Hye Kyo, who missed the awards show, were prepared to finally publicly announce their relationship.

And while even more people started speculating about their alleged romance after Hye Kyo missed the event, Song Joong-Ki made sure to mention his Descendants of the Sun co-star’s name during his acceptance speech.

“She [Hye Kyo] not only sent a coffee truck; she sent a snack truck too. She’s the best partner.”

In his speech, Song Joong-Ki also addressed his recent drama Moonlight Drawn By Clouds that is currently proving to be a huge hit in Korea. The Korean actor also explained why he had been so rarely seen in public lately.

“I’m filming a movie right now so I haven’t been able to come out much, but I’m glad to be here. Thank you.”

After the ceremony had concluded, Song Joong-Ki went on an Asian tour to hold fan meetings, which have so far gathered crowds of fans into packed venues. Rumors that Joong-Ki and Hye Kyo were prepared to finally announce their romance surfaced on the internet several days before the ceremony.

Several sources reported that Hye Kyo would be accompanying Song Joong-Ki to walk down the red carpet on Thursday, according to Game N Guide. But the reports also added that the two wanted to finally unveil their romantic relationship at the event.

Fans have been speculating that Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye Kyo are dating ever since the Korean series ended its run. And some reports claimed that the Korean actor, who turns 31-years-old next month, and his Descendants of the Sun co-star were spotted strolling around at New York City.

With many sources getting excited about the possibility of a real-life romance between the two on-screen stars, fans started spreading rumors that Song Joong-Ki and his alleged girlfriend have been exchanging gifts, while other fans believe that the two are going to get married very soon.

But neither Song Joong-Ki nor Song Hye Kyo has confirmed nor denied the rumors, which is why their fans shouldn’t get too excited every time someone posts anything related to the two co-stars’ alleged romance.

Just last month, reports surfaced on the internet claiming that Song Joong-Ki and Hye Kyo are filming for the upcoming second season of Descendants of the Sun, while other reports indicated that the two could appear in a movie adaptation of the hit Korean series.

And while the sequel to the Korean drama has never been confirmed, reports claiming that Song Joong-Ki and Hye Kyo have been seen with the director and other cast members suggest that Season 2 is really in the works.

Some reports even claim that Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye Kyo’s characters have matured a lot in the Descendants of the Sun sequel, which is why fans of the hit Korean series are getting excited over the possibility to see more love scenes in the upcoming season.

The news comes just a month since Song Joong-Ki was named the sexiest male Korean star. The Korean actor topped the list of 10 Hottest Korean Stars of Early 2016, beating his main rival Lee Min Ho.

The list was based on votes from Taiwanese voters, and Song Joong-Ki received the highest praise mainly thanks to the hit Korean series Descendants of the Sun. Lee Min Ho was a long way from the hottest Korean star, snatching only 1,767 points against Joong-Ki’s 9,638 points.
