The family of Sierra LaMar, a missing 15-year-old girl from Northern California, is offering a $10,000 reward to the first person to come forward with information that leads LaMar’s safe return.
Speaking to Mercury News, LaMar’s father, Steve LaMar, said that the family of the missing girl was able to raise enough money for the reward through fundraisers and donations to a bank account set up with Chase bank. “We’re hoping it might give someone the motivation to come forward,” he said. “We’re desperate for anything that can bring her home to us.”
So far, authorities haven’t found any strong evidence that Sierra was kidnapped, but investigators still believe that the 15-year-old was kidnapped. Authorities discovered LaMar’s cellphone and bag on the side of the road, but police haven’t come forward with any new evidence.
While LaMar’s family announced the fundraiser, search efforts for the missing girl continued over the weekend, with thousands of volunteers–including San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith and a few of his teammates–offering up time to comb the area in which Sierra went missing.
