The Saturday army parade has created quite the buzz on the internet for various reasons, including how it cost a staggering $45 million. However, many have picked up on Melania Trump‘s reaction to her husband’s extravagant actions. Already, many have joked how the parade, which was held in order to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. armed forces, coincided with Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
Reuters reported that the military parade cost around a whopping $45 million. However, despite the controversy, Trump himself tried to be humble, saying the day was indeed to celebrate the “greatest military in the world” and not his own big day.
“There is no event grand enough to adequately capture our gratitude for the millions of heroes who laid down their lives defending our freedom, but this parade will be a fitting tribute to the service, sacrifice, and selflessness of all who have worn the uniform,” he said.
He also thanked the former and current armed forces personnel for their service. According to the BBC, Trump said, “Thanks to their extraordinary service and devotion, 250 years later, America stands tall.”
He added, “America stands proud, and America stands free. We’re the hottest country in the world right now. And our country will soon be greater and stronger than ever before.”

Despite his extreme determination to celebrate the military, he appeared pretty tired. Apparently, the President had quite a long day, and he struggled to keep his eyes open during the ceremony.
On X (Twitter), people shared various clips where Donald Trump is seen dozing off, fighting to stay awake. The First Lady, Melania Trump, was seated next to him, and probably was observing his every move.
People on social media think that Melania didn’t appear to be pleased with how her 78-year-old husband frequently dozed off during the celebration. On X, many users shared videos of her looking poker-faced as she observed the parade. Some also claimed that Mrs. Trump was visibly “mortified.”
Another quipped, “She doesn’t look mortified, she’s laughing at him.” A third chimed in, “Probably past his bedtime.” “Aren’t parades supposed to be more lively? Where’s the music? Everyone is falling asleep!” another person added.

The parade was hosted at a crucial time amid the tension surrounding the protests in LA, California. According to The Independent, since the protests started, millions of people have joined in across 2,000 cities in order to raise their voices against Trump’s immigration crackdown.
The fire was fueled by a White House announcement that ICE officials should make at least 3,000 arrests every day. It’s the latest move to succeed the Republican leader’s mass deportation efforts.
