This Woman’s Mug Shot Looks Pretty Happy Considering What She’s Charged With

When mug shots go viral, it’s usually because there’s a celebrity involved, or someone especially good-looking. But when Sandra Grohmann got arrested in Humble, Texas, her mug shots also went viral — partly because they were just so weird, but mainly because her carefree mood was utterly inappropriate for the offense that has now, after her guilty plea Monday, landed her in jail for six months.

Before we tell you exactly what the 30-year-old mom did, let’s take a look at her other mug shot. Not as zany as her “jazz hands” shot, but still, pretty happy-go-lucky nonetheless.

Here’s what landed Sandra Grohmann in hot water, even though she seemed to be having a grand old time while she was getting booked.

Sandra Grohmann was caught pushing her newborn baby down a public street in a stroller — while she was absolutely, flat-out drunk. She could barely even stand up.

In fact, she was so blitzed as she pushed the one-month-old infant along South Houston Avenue in Humble at about 6 pm April 22 that she accidentally dumped the baby out of the stroller. The baby hit the ground and rolled off the sidewalk. Luckily, the baby rolled away from the street, not toward it. Grohmann was reportedly only a few feet from the traffic-filled thoroughfare when she was pushing the stroller while blotto.

Cops got the call that there was a drunken woman with a baby and responded to the scene. Here’s how an investigating police officer described the incident.

“Witnesses saw Grohmann pushing the stroller about five feet away from the roadway when she fell for the first time partially knocking her unrestrained child out of the stroller,” Detective Sergeant Mike Flynt said, after Grohmann was busted. “She then tried to get back up and put the baby back in the stroller when she fell again causing the baby to fall all the way out of the stroller and roll into the grass. She then tried to get back up, falling for the third time.”

The police decided that the infant was in serious danger, with its intoxicated mom pushing the stroller close to moving cars. They took the baby and turned it over to Child Protective Services, after paramedics had examine the infant to make sure there were no serious injuries from its tumble.

Grohmann pleaded guilty to child endangerment Monday and will now have six months behind bars to sober up before she is able to resume her responsibilities as a mom.
