A woman secretly called 911 on her abusive husband after he pinned her down. The bodycam video from the police revealed the heated encounter when the man discovered he could no longer abuse his wife.

At first, he tried to deny he did anything, but the marks on his wife’s body told a different story. Their argument started when he was angry at work and got drunk. She told the police, “He was at work, angry. I don’t know. I talked to him on and off today when he was at work. I can tell you that he drank some wine right around noonish when he wasn’t drunk.”

She explained that he told her kid to get food from McDonald’s and not to get him anything. Things escalated quickly, and he pinned her down with a blanket on top of her. He then pulled her down to the floor and put his heel on her neck. The officer asked, “He’s never put his hands up? Never been like that before?”

She admitted this was the first time he was physically abusive. When she called 911, he became even angrier, and she was fighting him. At one point, he used his knee to hold her down. In the video, she further claims she screamed for help from her stepson, but he did not come. The distressed woman added, “He’s a bad alcoholic. He needs to stop drinking. He’s a wonderful, wonderful person when he’s not drunk.”

She claimed that she was in an abusive relationship for 15 years and will not put up with this behavior. The police officers calmed her down and handled the drunk husband. An officer asked, “I’m assuming you want to pursue charges, correct?”

She replied, “Yeah. Something has to change.” Furthermore, she added that she has video proof of him being verbally abusive. The officer told her to keep the evidence, as it may help her case. She also told them he was driving drunk while the vehicle was registered in her name.

Meanwhile, the husband denied all the allegations and said, “I didn’t do anything improper.” The police arrested him and took him to the station. He was charged with domestic battery, and he may face jail time and a fine on a felony conviction.

There may be other penalties, such as court costs and probation, if there are prior convictions for domestic violence. Several such cases go unreported; however, this woman was brave enough to report it and get the help needed.
