The parents of a young man, identified as Daniel, called police after he kicked in their front door and forced his way into their home. They told officers they didn’t want him in the house, saying they were afraid of his unpredictable behavior. He reportedly behaved similarly once officers arrived at the home.

The mother told the police, “We were going to give him money to go get a hotel, whatever. He kicked on the front door, and she was petrified.”

An officer asked the man to come down and talk while Daniel remained standing on the stairs. When he was slow to comply, the officer demanded, “I don’t really care. I said, ‘Get down here right now.’ Down here.” The man explained he had nowhere else to go, since his parents had locked him out, and said he needed to shower after going to the gym.

Officers eventually got him to come downstairs, though Daniel remained agitated and uncooperative. In the middle of the conversation, he punched a police officer, prompting officers to attempt to detain him, with additional officers stepping in to help.

According to the video, the man is trained in martial arts and regularly works out at the gym, and officers say he has a history of violent behavior. Officers managed to handcuff him, though initially with his hands cuffed in front rather than behind his back, as he continued physically resisting several others.

After his feet were restrained as well, he kept talking to officers, apparently attempting to distract them, before trying to fight back again—at which point officers deployed a taser.

Officers warned him he would be tased again if he didn’t comply. He replied, “I don’t like creating the whole situation. I didn’t want this.” The officer responded, “What do you mean you didn’t want this? You punched a sergeant in the face and then kicked my partner.” Despite being detained, he asked the officers for water. He said, “It’s like I need some water. Can I get some water in my mouth?”

Addressing officers’ conduct, Daniel said, “You’re supposed to be peaceful officers. Like you took a badge. You took an oath.”

The bodycam video uploaded by the channel Sergeant Steve, amassed over 715K views on YouTube, with many commenters slamming the man. One user wrote, “How awful and sad it must be to be SCARED of your own son.” Another added, “he needs never to come back to this house. He is the kind that if he doesn’t get his way, he could come back and kill his parents.”

A third viewer praised the officer, “Dang, that cop took that punch like he barely felt it!” “‘Don’t touch me, don’t touch me’ smart move punching the cop, now there’s five of em touching you,” joked one viewer.
