Police responded to a call from a man about an alleged assault. The man told the police his girlfriend was assaulting him. She also tried to hang up the phone while he was speaking to the police. When they arrived at the hotel room, they quickly put her in handcuffs while she was crying the whole time. The bodycam footage shows her pleading, saying, “Babe, please stop. I’m begging you. I’m begging you, please stop. Babe, please stop.”
She was resisting arrest and wasn’t cooperating with the Polk County officers. That’s when she kicked the police officer twice. The officer told her, “Well, you’re also going to get charged with assault. So, how’s that?” She asked. “For what? I didn’t assault you.” He replied. “You just kicked me twice.”
She added, “He put his hands on me first, and he called the cops.” The officer told her that she was the one acting irrationally. Identified as Ashley Cole, she assured the officers she was not under the influence, and they could use a breathalyzer. However, the officer asked if she smoked anything. She justified her violence by saying he choked her first, so she had the right to punch him.
The officer noted that she did not have any marks on her neck if she was telling the truth. She claimed to have video proof of this on her phone. The officer joked that she was acting like a spider monkey.
She started kicking the officer’s car, so he threatened to restrain her. After a lot of back and forth, the officer asked her to unlock her phone to see the videos of the assault she was claiming to have. At that time, she told them, “He probably deleted everything on my phone. He deleted everything.”
The officers also questioned the boyfriend, who explained he had called 911 multiple times, but she kept hanging up. Moreover, he clarified he did not have access to her phone. At this time, it was his word against hers, but she did not have any proof of assault. Meanwhile, her boyfriend had marks on his body from the assault. The officer told him they would have to go no contact, as she was going to jail and would be investigated.
Later on, the erratic girlfriend told the officer that he bit her and she must have marks on her arm from it. While on the way to the police station, she was crying, saying she was scared. She was also kicking the car constantly to express her emotions violently.
She wanted to see the EMS over an alleged heart disease she had. Apart from this, she banged her head on the car multiple times. She was booked and charged with domestic abuse assault, assault on a police officer, and obstruction of emergency communication.
The bodycam video has over 8k views on YouTube. Several viewers were shocked by the woman’s behavior. One viewer took a sarcastic dig, “Yup, she sure showed them that she was the calm and sane one.” The second one posted, “It’s hard for her to claim he assaulted her when she was on camera begging him to apologize.”
