A sinister incident has emerged in Muskogee County, Oklahoma, shocking authorities. A mother named Cherie Walker was convicted of committing heinous crimes against her own 11-year-old daughter. Not only did the mother fail to protect her child, but she also did not take any action to prevent her husband, Dustin Walker, from s*xually abusing her.
Walker was found guilty on all seven charges brought against her, including one count of enabling child s*xual abuse and six counts of child neglect. The jury carefully reviewed testimonies from emergency responders, police officers, medical personnel, state DHS workers, relatives, and church members before reaching their decision to recommend a life sentence on each charge. Her formal sentencing is scheduled for a later date.
An official investigation was launched back in August 2025 after authorities discovered that the girl had given birth at home without receiving any medical care or assistance during her pregnancy. DNA testing officially identified Dustin as the father of his stepdaughter’s baby.
According to court records, Cherie allowed her 11-year-old daughter to deliver a baby born to her husband.
The couple faced felony child neglect charges for failing to provide proper medical care and supervision for the 11-year-old girl when she gave birth at home. Court documents show five additional neglect charges involving their other children aged two, four, six, seven, and nine. According to NBC News, authorities reported that all five younger siblings were forced to live in unsanitary and unsafe conditions.
On March 26, Dustin pleaded guilty to one count of child s*xual abuse (under age 12) and six counts of child neglect. He received a life sentence for the abuse charge, along with consecutive prison terms for the neglect counts.
Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson spoke to the Daily Star about the horrific incident. “This child is traumatized,” she said. “This is one of the most, if not the most, serious child s*xual abuse and neglect cases I have ever prosecuted.”
“She’s been through a horrific ordeal. Not only has somebody gotten her pregnant, but she gave birth at home without medical assistance, and this will be her life for the rest of her life.”
The victim’s grandmother, Michelle Justus, is also charged with six counts of child neglect. She reportedly watched her granddaughter give birth but did not alert the authorities. Her trial is set to begin on Thursday.
The incident has sent waves across social media platforms, with netizens struggling to understand how a mother could allow her daughter to get abused.
“Even as a retired nurse, to imagine that a 11-year-old is pregnant and giving birth to a full-term baby is mind-blowing… ALL failed that girl… SHAME! The poor girl having to go through all that … and all abuse and neglect before that! I hope these monsters get jail time for life,” a netizen wrote.
Another added, “This poor child was cheated out of ANYONE to show her love. Her mother failed her. Her grandmother failed her. Her disgusting stepfather needs the death penalty. Absolute dysfunction! This poor child!!!”
A separate comment read, “Let’s set aside that your grandchildren are living in absolute filth, don’t have electricity or running water for years, but now your granddaughter has a baby and most likely conceived at 10 years old and then they make her deliver the baby at home with no help. This is outrageous and completely irresponsible and heartless.”
“What the step-dad did is horrible, but with the wife and mother of the child and the grandmother being complicit in it, it takes this to another sickening level. I just cannot understand that,” read a fourth comment.
