Kentucky police responded to a 911 call describing a woman chained by the neck inside a home. She had been kidnapped and held captive in a second-floor bedroom. She managed to yell for help through a broken window, which ultimately made her rescue possible. Identified as Jonna Wilson, she was crying and trapped when officers found her.
The other end of the chain was bolted to the floor. Officers had to free the chain from the floor and then cut it from her neck to release her. The man responsible, her estranged boyfriend, Moises May, had a history of abuse toward her.
Bodycam footage from the rescue showed that the house had been locked from the outside, leaving Wilson with no way to escape. She told the officers, “Yeah, a lot of these doors are nailed shut. We really can’t do anything with them.”
According to reporting on the case, the ordeal began two days earlier when Wilson and May got into an argument that turned physical. May held her down, cut off much of her hair with a machete, and slapped her before she left the house. However, she encountered him while he was riding his bike, and he stopped her to ask her to come back and “clean up the room” in exchange for money, promising he would not hurt her. She explained that as soon as she went back inside, he assaulted her and locked the door, effectively trapping her again.
According to the footage, May told her, “Will you please just come clean up the room and I’ll pay you. I promise I’m not going to hurt you.” After that, he assaulted her and locked her inside the house.
Officers searching the home found it had effectively been turned into a confinement area with bolted windows and barricaded doors throughout. Wilson herself was secured to the floor with heavy-duty hardware. Police arrived just in time, as May had reportedly threatened to kill her once he returned.
With over 1.5 million views on YouTube, the bodycam video has drawn significant attention online. Many viewers expressed shock at Wilson’s condition.

One user commented, “Poor woman getting rescued and saying ‘I’m sorry’ to the cops is HEARTBREAKING.” Another one wrote, “Her concern for the kittens while still chained by the neck says a lot about her caring nature. I hope she’s healing and the kittens have found homes.”
A third added, “Imagine being assaulted and p–d out, chained to a floor, beaten, and told someone was going to kill you.” Police identified the accused as Moises May and charged him with kidnapping and human trafficking. In his defense, he claimed Wilson chained herself up and didn’t go to rehab.
The Kentucky court found him guilty under several charges, including kidnapping, assault, wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening and harassment, and sentenced him to 30 years in prison. He became eligible for parole after serving just 20% of his sentence.
