Tattoo shop reality show star Kat Von D has piped up on the cancellation of her TLC show LA Ink .

Von D wasn’t the only big name on TLC to get cut from the lineup this fall and depart the channel’s airwaves within a month- Kate Gosselin and her band of eight children were also on the programming chopping block . But while Kate admitted the decision to cancel the show wasn’t hers, Kat wasn’t going down as quietly.

The inkstress’ protests began on Twitter yesterday , where she Tweeted:

I love how me deciding to not continue doing LA Ink, turns into being “cancelled.” Thanks @TLC . Regardless of everything I remain grateful.

Von D huffed:

Please standby for a more in depth, more honest statement regarding LA Ink.

After bantering with a fan about starting a detective show, the painted lady then linked to a longer statement as promised giving her side of the cancellation/Jesse James breakup tale. The new season of the show premiered, as you may know, with a clip of Von D unveiling her new Jesse James ink to her on-again, off-again beau . But when the clip aired, the pair were off-again, creating some awkward situations on talk shows until they reconciled .

In her statement, Von D deflects the TLC side of the story in one fell swoop, while accusing the network of not playing fairly on several counts:

“In an effort to capitalize on my recent breakup, the network has decided to focus their energy on re-editing events that didn’t happen while filming. I have no regrets and am very proud of the original footage. In my opinion, any attempt to compromise the honesty of that would be an insult to my fans and viewers… As grateful as I am to have been a part of a show like LA Ink , I’m ready to end this chapter and want to focus on other projects now.”

As of now, Von D has yet to indicate what the “other projects” might be.
