Jimmy Kimmel is coming for JD Vance following his firing earlier this month. The Vice President tried to claim that the government wasn’t involved in the incident that made headlines. The talk show host was suspended in mid-September after pressure from the right-wing circle after he made a few controversial remarks about Charlie Kirk.

He commented that the “MAGA gang” was “desperately trying to characterize Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.” Following his remarks, ABC “indefinitely” canceled his late-night talk show. His firing angered the critics, and even other talk-show hosts came to Kimmel’s support. Many questioned Donald Trump‘s intervention in free speech. In response, the POTUS said, “All they do is hit Trump… They are licensed. They are not allowed to do that.”

Just a week after the controversy, Disney brought Kimmel back. However, his return was interrupted by two companies that own dozens of ABC affiliates, which took a stance against airing his show. “This show is not important. What is important is that we get to live in a country that allows us to have a show like this,” Kimmel said about the whole incident.

However, Trump was not happy about his return. In his Truth Social post, the Republican POTUS said, “I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back. ABC told the White House that his show was cancelled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE, and his ‘talent’ was never there,” He added, “Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE.”

Meanwhile, JD Vance commented that the stations that refused to carry Kimmel’s show, did it because he is “not funny and his ratings aren’t very good.” Interestingly, shortly after his comments, the stations decided to return his show.

“I have some good news for you, J-Dog,” Jimmy Kimmel said, mocking Vance’s comments. “We’re back on all the stations, at every home, every bar, every strip club, and every prison in America,” he said as he opened his show after a week, according to Huff Post.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt your [expletive language],” he fired back. At that time, JD Vance said, “He’s currently on the air, and to the extent that he’s not, it’s because advertisers don’t like him because his ratings aren’t very good.”

Jimmy Kimmel fired back, “My ratings aren’t very good? Last time I checked, your ratings were somewhere between a hair in your salad and chlamydia.”

The whole Jimmu Kimmel fiasco has started a serious debate in the country. The current administration is being accused of suppressing free speech by targeting comedians and journalists and even threatening the networks. Former President Barack Obama also came forward and expressed his concern after Kimmel was ousted from his job.

The Trump administration, however, defends themselves by claiming that they are trying to eliminate ‘hate speech’.
