Illinois police arrested a 28-year-old in a hit-and-run case on April 1, 2026. During the crash, her car got sideswiped and t-boned, resulting in the death of a man on a motorcycle. The police inquired about the series of events that happened on the day of the accident.
An officer asked, “Did you come to a stop at the intersection?” She replied, “I did.” The officer asked if she had stopped, but she stated that she could not. She claimed to have called 911, but she did run away from the scene.
Her explanation did not make sense as she did not even remember what type of vehicle she hit on the road. She further explained that she had a green light and had the right of way. The officer asked, “Did you see the other driver at all?” She replied, seeing a driver briefly.
The officer pointed out, “That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. If that car is making a left and you’re making a left, it would have been front-end damage, or it would have been your driver’s side. So, how’s your passenger side?” She again explained that she was T-boned sideways.
During the arrest, the officer asked if she was sober. She said no while also denying doing sobriety tests. She was taken to a hospital for tests and then to prison.
The woman is currently being held on no bail at the Kane County Jail while she awaits a trial. The case is still ongoing, and she will be given a sentence based on an accident involving death and reckless homicide. The bodycam video of the arrest showed her denial of any wrongdoing while she was charged with different felonies.
In addition to fleeing the scene of the fatal accident, she attempted to defend her actions. She now faces multiple severe charges: a class-1 felony for failing to report a crash involving death, two class-2 felony counts of aggravated DUI causing death, a class-3 felony for reckless homicide, a class-4 felony for possession of a controlled substance, and four separate traffic citations.
Notably, this is not her first offense; her record includes a 2019 DUI, and she was found with illicit substances in her possession at the time of the crash. The video has almost 200K views on YouTube. Many viewers noted how she was crying one moment and forgot to show any remorse the next minute.
One viewer commented, “Notice how she forgets she’s supposed to be crying for a moment and is totally clear, then goes back to her wailing.” One more posted, “She’s so self-absorbed she couldn’t care less about another human being.”
