What a difference two terms can make. This classic clip from the 2000 Presidential debates features George Bush castigating Al Gore over among other things “nation building” foreign policy, with Bush referring to his focus on the United States remaining humble to earn respect.
It’s actually staggering listening to it. Can’t say I disagree with him back then though ?
