A Florida man lured a 14-year-old into his home but was caught by the police. Identified as a 37-year-old David Bunn, he pretended not to know anything and told the police officers stories about gang members stalking him.

However, the officers were persistent in searching for the missing teenager in the North Port region. The incident happened on April 8, 2024 when a family reported their teenage daughter was missing.

The police were able to track a digital trail and physical footprints. The cell phone signal ended at Bunn’s home on Kenwood Drive. At first, the police interrogated a neighbor for any clues, but she didn’t know much. The interrogation moved on to Bunn as they asked him about the missing teenager.

He said, “I’m very very actually concerned because that’s a serious accusation.”

They asked him to search the property; however, he denied even speaking up. He told them, “Um, honestly, without a warrant, though, I mean, I got so many things. My father has always told me, and I stick to it. I mean, and in this last case I was with, I was told, don’t speak, stay silent. Like, when (things) get really out of control, shut up.”

The officers were able to convince him to check the resident, and they found the teenager in one of the back rooms. When officers interrogated him, he told them some gang members were stalking and harassing him.

Meanwhile, the officers spoke to the teen and assured her she was not in any trouble. She revealed the man had communicated with her online and told her he would arrange a pickup for her. During her stay at his house, he gave her substances to keep her unconscious.

The officers arrested him on the scene after hearing the victim’s statement. He was charged with severe felonies, including kidnapping a minor and crimes involving a minor. His trial is scheduled for September 2026.

The bodycam video had almost 12K views. Many hoped for a long prison time for the abductor, while some pointed out how the child’s parents were also responsible. One viewer commented, “Let’s hope for prison justice!”

A second viewer posted, “Parents failed in teaching that girl important life lessons and to stay off the internet at her age.” Another one commented, “Every accusation by a criminal is a confession. Translation. He is a part of a gang-stalking group. That’s why he’s kidnapped.”

One viewer posted, “I don’t want to sound like I am blaming the victim, but I am pretty sure that she met him online, went to his house, knowing what he wanted. Why else would you go to an adult’s house that you knew was over twice your age?”
