A Florida traffic stop spiraled into an arrest after a woman allegedly told deputies her car belonged to the FBI and claimed she was working on a highly sensitive federal case.
She told the officers that they would have to contact federal authorities for information on her vehicle. At first, the officer told her, “The reason why I pulled you over, my partner and I right there on the side of the road in the state of Florida, we have a move over law, and you either need to bump it down to 20 mph or you’ve got to try to move over to the left-hand side.”
She argued that another vehicle did the same thing. In addition, she lied about working with the FBI in a highly sensitive case; so she could not provide any information about it. The officers were not convinced that she was telling the truth and questioned her further.
They asked her to provide the registration papers of the vehicle. She replied, “Contact the Federal Bureau. I already informed this officer.” She refused to provide the papers and comply with the officers. Meanwhile, she accused the officers of being impersonators.
There was a lot of back and forth in arguments between them. She provided an older registration paper from 2018, which was no longer valid. The woman infact said, “I have done nothing for you to act this way. I am. This is harassment right now.”
During the arrest, the bodycam video shows the woman threatening, “I’m going to make sure you’re not an impersonator because if you are, then you’re going to be in quite some trouble. This one right here as well.” However, the deputies took the woman to jail for not complying with the lawful order.
Following her arrest, authorities revealed that the suspect is a convicted felon who now faces a cascade of legal cases. Officials have charged her with multiple offenses, including resisting an officer without violence, failing to register a motor vehicle, refusing to sign a criminal citation, and failing to register as a convicted felon. After she subsequently failed to appear in court, a judge issued a bond of $7,500.
A dog found in her car at the time of the traffic stop has been transferred to the local animal shelter.
The video was posted on YouTube by the Crime Scrutiny and has gotten over 327K views. Viewers called the woman’s behavior problematic from the beginning. One user took a sarcastic dig and commented, “Federal Bureau of Loony Tunes.”
Another one posted, “This chick is completely bonkers!” The third one pointed out, “She sits somewhere between a pathological liar and a deranged sociopath.” Several viewers called her crazy for having such a bad attitude and not complying with the police while being a convicted felon.
Another one commented, “Hopefully the poor dog got rehomed to someone less crazy.” One user asked, “Why was she not charged with impersonating an FBI agent?” Her answers to the officers were misleading, and she was not working with the FBI.
