Justin Timberlake once found a unique way to get into a club as a teenager.
Although the singer was a member of an insanely popular boy band during his youth, this didn’t necessarily mean Timberlake could skirt the law with reckless abandon. Unfortunately for Justin, he was often denied access to certain places because of his age. Instead of shrugging his shoulders and finding something else to do with his time, he decided to get a little sneaky.
Shortly before ‘N Sync was the toast of the planet, the guys met up with Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek . During a recent chat with HuffPo Live , the actor revealed that he allowed Justin Timberlake a few other members of the group to use his ID to get inside a nightclub .
“I was in Vegas one New Year’s and somebody came by and said, ”N Sync wants to meet you!’ And at the time, ‘N Sync was the second to Backstreet Boys, it was before they had blown up. They had just come out with some Christmas album, like at the same time 98 Degrees did,” Van Der Beek said of his encounter with Justin Timberlake.
He continued, “So, I said, ‘okay.’ And I met them and they were so sweet, they were so nice. They were such cool kids and I immediately liked them.”
At one point during their evening together in Las Vegas, James and the ‘N Sync fellas found themselves at the same club. Since the guys were too young to get in, Van Der Beek went in first and slipped his ID back outside. Justin Timberlake and Lance Bass were able to use the card before the bouncers discovered something was a little fishy.
Of course, it makes you wonder how much attention the bouncers were paying to Timberlake and the guys when they were trying to get into the club. After all, James and Justin really don’t look that much alike.
However, PopCrush stumbled across a photo of a guy from the 1870s who looks just like the impossibly likable singer. Although could be the power of suggestion hard at work, the likeness is still a little eerie.
