12-Year-Old Girl Kills Tiny Kitten, Throws It Into Oncoming Traffic

A 12-year-old New York girl allegedly lured a 3-month-old kitten from its owner’s home in Ozone Park and then killed it by hurling it into oncoming traffic.

The shocking incident occurred last Friday when the tiny kitten, named Little Man, was playing in the front yard at the home where he lived.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, apparently carried out the cruel act in front of a group of friends and was said to be “showing off.” The devastated owner of the kitten, Nanette Licari spoke to 1010 WINS about the incident:

“He really was beautiful and he was sweet; he had a nice long life ahead of him. It hurt be so badly…I just couldn’t deal with it, I thought my heart was going to explode.”

Meanwhile the girl, who was arrested by The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), said the teenager showed little remorse about what she did going one stage further and actually mocking the incident,

Licari said that the girl: “Didn’t think about the fact that animal has feelings and maybe there’s someone that loves that cat. She just did what she wanted to do. There was a whole crowd of children around her, nobody stopped it, I never hung out with children like that.”

According to the Daily News the teenager said about the heartless killing of the kitten: “I would do it again if I could.”

The girl was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and the case has been referred to the Family Court.
