Adele Considering Las Vegas Residency [Report]

Adele is reportedly considering a residency in Las Vegas.

According to The Sun, Adele is the middle of a $40 million bidding war between casinos in Vegas for a potential residency. Elton John has allegedly advised the 25-year-old Grammy and Oscar winner to take the offer. In 2011, John signed his own deal to perform his “The Million Dollar Piano” show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace until 2014. That residency followed a previous five-year stint of “The Red Piano,” which ended in April 2009.

“Stacks of Las Vegas casinos are desperate to get Adele on billboards as a headliner in this town,” an insider told The Sunon Sunday. “The highest figure being touted is US $40 million but it could be even higher.”

The insider also said that the 66-year-old has urged the “Rumor Has It” singer to take the deal to provide for her 12-month-old son, Angelo, with fiancé Simon Konecki.

“Elton’s been a really good friend to her and they’ve been Skypeing to share parental advice,” the insider said. “But he is a businessman too, and has been telling Adele Vegas residency could secure a really good future for her family.”

Britney Spears confirmed her own two-year Las Vegas residency in May. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the “Work B*tch” singer will be earning about $15 million annually for the residency, which works out to about $310,000 per show. The 31-year-old will begin her residency in December.

In August, rumors surfaced that Adele would be making her film debut in Matthew Vaughn’s The Secret Service. The British singer was reportedly cast as a villain in the film, which is based on Mark Millar’s graphic novel of the same name.

“Adele is exactly what Matthew Vaughn is looking for,” a source said. “He wants the highest-profile names in various fields to boost the film’s cause and turn it into a mega-money franchise.”
