Daytona Beach, FL - Months of online flirtation with a supposed 14-year-old girl got a man arrested recently, but it was investigators who were stunned when he brought his wife and daughter to the sting.
Cliff Oshman had been chatting with someone he thought was a teenager online since March, and finally agreed to meet with his minor paramour at a grocery store for the first time. The 64-year-old was arrested on child-sex solicitation and other charges when he arrived, but authorities found that he wasn't alone.
Apparently, Oshman's intention was to welcome the 14-year-old girl into his family as his lover.
"The wife and daughter were given a ride to the police department and during that ride [his wife] told detectives that the defendant and she were supposed to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex," said the police report.
An ad posted online by Oshman in March said that he was "looking for someone to add to his cozy family and that the age of the person did not matter."
It was this ad that undercover officers responded to. Over the course of several months, Oshman chatted with officers and expressed a desire for a sexual relationship.
"When people discover we are lovers, and find out your age, there will certainly be a scandal," Oshman reportedly said, according to the arrest report. "We need to make a plan to handle it OK... I sincerely would love you to be in my life."
He also reportedly sent officers photos of himself and his family, along with a series of nudes.
He was arrested on felony charges of using a computer to solicit a child for sex, traveling to solicit a child for sex, using a two-way communication device to commit a felony and two charges of transmitting images harmful to a child, reports the Orlando Sentinel. The report didn't name Oshman's wife as a conspirator, and it is unknown whether she is culpable or will face charges.
