Grand Theft Auto Servers Causing Frustration For Gamers

Grand Theft Auto servers went down on Sunday, leaving millions of players with a “mostly unplayable” copy of Grand Theft Auto Online.

Attempting to log into GTA Online left users with the following message: “Alert: Failed to host a GTA Online session. Please return to Grand Theft Auto V and try again later.”

Users could then tap the “X” button to continue. The game would then pull above the clouds, zoom to the side, and zoom back down to the last Grand Theft Auto Online player the gamer was using.

With the Grand Theft Auto servers offline gamers can choose a solo session but that only allows for an introductory cut scene which also ends with the message: “Alert: Failed to join Job or Activity. Return to GTA Online.” That message is then replaced with: “Alert: There has been an error joining a session. Please return to Grand Theft Auto V.” Gamers are then introduced to a “continue” button which does absolutely no good.

Unlike EA Games which failed miserably with its SIM City servers the team at Rockstar warned customers that some “technical teething issues in the early days of a new online experience” were to be expected.

To combat server issues and the flooding of its customer service channels Rockstar has built a status update page which includes an error messages repository.

As the team at Rockstar tweaks the Grand Theft Auto Servers for massively aggregated gameplay, users should begin to experience a higher level of connectivity and a more fluid experience.
