Zoe Saldana Secretly Marries Marco Perego [Report]

Zoe Saldana secretly married Italian artist Marco Perego in London in June, according to Us Weekly.

A source told the magazine the ceremony “was super small but very romantic and beautiful,” with only close friends and relatives in attendance.

The 34-year-olds have apparently known each other for a long time, but were first spotted together in mid-May after the Star Trek Into Darkness premiere in Los Angeles.

Saldana was previously in an on-again, off-again relationship with Bradley Cooper for two years. The couple broke up in January. The Colombiana star was previously engaged to long-time boyfriend Keith Britton in June 2010, but the couple announced that they had ended their 11-year relationship in November 2011.

Zoe Saldana raised some eyebrows earlier this year when she said she “might end up with a woman” after breaking up with Bradley Cooper. She also said her possible decision to raise children with another woman showed how “androgynous” she is. Some people were confused by her comments, taking them to mean that she was coming out as bisexual or a lesbian, which she said wasn’t the case.

Prior to that, Saldana told InStyle that she “worshiped” men and considered them “Adonises.” She clarified her comments in an interview with BET’s Smriti Mundhra in May.

“It’s the saddest situation … It is almost impossible for us to get through one conversation with somebody at a cashier without having to go, ‘Oh is she Mexican? Oh is she gay? Or what kind of car does she drive? Or is she illegal or something,'” Saldana said. “There are so much more things that are important besides stereotyping ourselves and limiting ourselves just by putting ourselves in little boxes.”

Saldana also said that she has known her life “to be with men,” but if she felt she wanted to be with a woman, she would do it.

A month later, Zoe Saldana and Marco Perego were married.
