Gabriel Agbonlahor has been receiving death threats after his ferocious tackle on One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson left the pop singer in so much toil that he vomited on the sidelines.

Numerous fans of the band have now been sent to the Aston Villa striker after the incident, which occurred during a charity soccer match for former soccer star, Stilian Petrov, in Glasgow.

Tomlinson was forced to be substituted because of the miss-timed tackle, which also lead to him being sick as he left the field.

Agbonlahor has now been sent various messages from One Direction fans, with some even issuing him death threats.

@Omg_Its_Ella wrote to the England player, “This guy hurt Louis knee. I shall hurt your face. I better hear that you apologised or I will find you, and I will kill you.” She then had the good sense to delete her account after her message.

Another fan of Tomlinson and the band, @zaynoreos_, then echoed her sentiments, writing, “I will chop your balls off.” This user has also since deleted their account.

Agbonlahor has since revealed that he intends to apologise to Tomlinson for his rough tackle, telling the BBC, “It was one of those things. I’ll apologise to Louis when we meet up… I know he enjoyed playing in the game and it’s fantastic that he took time out to be here.”

Martin O’Neill, a former manager for Aston Villa and Celtic who oversaw the One Direction star’s side during the charity match, commented, “Agbonlahor smashed into him and he picked himself up and then was ill in the dressing-room area, but he’s not too bad now I think. He had to rush off, but I think he’s fine. He doesn’t know where he is, but he’s fine. He was genuinely ill, but he’s OK now.”
