Laura Dern’s Divorce Finalized After Failed Reconciliation With Ben Harper

Laura Dern’s divorce from Ben Harper has been finalized. The couple originally attempted to reconcile, but that attempt failed, and they moved forward with their divorce.

In 2010, Ben Harper shocked Dern when he filed for divorce after 5 years of marriage.

In 2012, the pair attempted to save their marriage before the divorce was finalized.

After only two months, Laura Dern no longer wanted to reconcile, and she filed her response to Harper’s divorce petition. Dern demanded primary physical custody of their children. The couple have two children together.

It took almost a full year, but a judge finally signed off on the couple’s divorce petition.

According to several sources, the pair will share joint custody of their children, but Laura will have more time with the kids than Ben.

Dern will also receive “minimal” child support, and neither spouse will receive spousal renumeration.

While the pair’s reconciliation effort may have failed, it is still nice to see a Hollywood divorce that didn’t start and end with major public sparring and other theatrics.

Dern can next be seen in When the Game Stands Tall, and she is currently filming two movies, The Fault in Our Stars and Strings.

It’s sad to watch any marriage fail, but this one was written in the stars three years ago. A long drawn out divorce but at least the couple tried to make things work, which is more than we can say for a lot of Hollywood marriages these days.
