Ronda Rousey Prepares For ‘Ultimate Fighter 18’ Season Premiere

Ronda Rousey will serve as a coach on the Fox Sports 1 reality series The Ultimate Fighter 18. The next season kicks off later this week.

Fans of the MMA star should definitely clear their busy schedules for this Wednesday (September 4). The first episode is currently scheduled to air on the cable network at 10 pm ET.

Ronda Rousey and rival Miesha Tate will both serve as coaches on this season of the series. According to USA Today, this is the first time the UFC show will feature male and female competitors. Rousey is hoping the reality series will help shed some light on just how dedicated women are to the sport.

“They are valiant fighters and extremely passionate about what they do. They offer so much the guys don’t, and I thought it was something people really needed to see. I thought ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ could provide that vessel where people could start getting interested in these other women coming up,” she recently told Bleacher Report.

While Ronda Rousey is excited about the Ultimate Fighter 18 premiere, she told USA Today Sports that she’s a little worried about the way certain situations will be presented by producers throughout the series.

“How could people possibly know who you are from a couple of clips of a video that people are seeing out of context? That’s no way for people to get to know you, so I’m just preparing for people to get the worst idea of who I am,” she recently explained to the publication.

While she’s waiting to see how fans react to The Ultimate Fighter 18, Ronda Rousey can stay focused on her role in Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables 3. She’s also reportedly been approached for The Hunger Games and the next installment of the Fast and Furious franchise.

The fighter was also the center of a recent documentary that aired on Fox Sports 1 earlier this week. Breaking Ground gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her life and career.
