Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has just landed a launch trailer, above.
Apocalypse is just not enough to stop some people, now is it? The primal dragon Bahamut escaped and destroyed most of the planet Eorzea, but our hero has traveled time five years into the future and is now on the verge of facing invasion from the north by the Garlean Empire.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is a MMORPG, a realm of games that Final Fantasy has not been known for. However, in the wake of such successes as World of Warcraft and League of Legends, it appears that Square Enix is not one to be left behind in the evolution of role-playing games.
After the poor reception and reviews for their previous title, Square Enix has brought in a whole new team, since as previously reported by The Inquisitr, the second time may be the charm.
The launch trailer for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn begins with what appears to be a diamond-shaped crystal floating in a field of blue as a female voice-over says, “Hear, feel, think, the power to banish the darkness dwelleth in the crystals of light.”
We then see a man among a group of ornate poles growling his pain or frustration with his arms out to his sides, and a woman with a headdress and staff watching the sky and witnessing a barrage of falling stars. A man in a dark hooded cloak laughs maniacally, most likely the villain or one of his lackeys.
We then see the woman mentioned above standing beside a knight, introducing herself, “My name is Kan-E-Senna, and it is my solemn charge to watch over all who call on Gridania.” The crowd around her falls to one knee and praises her or something as a young girl runs up.
The child says, “We are graced this day by the presence of a hero.”
We can only hope that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn fares better than its predecessor.
