50 Cent Domestic Abuse Charges: Judge Orders Singer To Turn Over Guns

50 Cent appeared in court today to face charges of domestic abuse.

The singer, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, plead not guilty to the charges but the judge didn’t see things that way. According to TMZ, the judge ordered 50 Cent to turn over all of his guns.

The singer has also been ordered to stay away from model Daphne Joy. A protective order says that 50 Cent may not contact Joy and must stay at least 100 yards away from her at all times.

The gossip site notes that this isn’t the end of the domestic abuse case. 50 Cent will appear back in court next month and according to USA Today he could face up to 5 years in jail.

The domestic abuse charges stem from an incident on June 23. The singer reportedly got into an argument with Joy at her home. Joy, who claims to have a child with Jackson, said that the singer destroyed her apartment and then kicked in the bedroom door. The singer reportedly caused about $7,000 worth of property damage. The woman also alleges that Jackson hit her.

City Attorney Mike Feuer said: “Regardless of perceived celebrity or notoriety, domestic violence is a serious crime, and alleged perpetrators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law by this office.”
