Aaron Hernandez recently penned a letter to one of his fans claiming that he was innocent and that God had put him in jail.
The jailhouse letter was obtained by TMZ and has been verified by a law enforcement official. The letter was sent to a fan named Karl who was imprisoned in the same jail about 15 years ago.
Hernandez, who has already plead not guilty, writes in the handwritten letter that he knows that God has a plan and that something good will come out of this.
Hernandez writes: “God put me in this situation for a reason… I know ‘God’ has a plan for me and something good will come out of this…I’ve always been a great person an (sic) known for having an amazing heart.”
The former New England Patriot also said that he was looking forward to getting back on the field.
Hernandez said: “Can’t wait to sign this again when I’m playing again and prove all the haters and down talkers WRONG… All the people who turned on me will feel like crap.”
Hernandez has been charged with the murder of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd. Police believe that Hernandez used a.45-caliber Glock in the murder but the weapon has not been recovered.
