Samantha Jones is headed to the second season of the CW drama The Carrie Diaries.
Fans of the HBO series Sex and the City have been wondering when the prequel would add Jones to the storyline. The show will reportedly introduce the character made famous by Kim Cattrall during the upcoming season.
According to Hollywood Life, Lindsey Gort has been tapped to portray a younger version of Samantha Jones in The Carrie Diaries.
Warner Bros. said in a recent statement:
Through a surprising connection, our young Carrie Bradshaw will meet one of the most important people in her life this season in a role made iconic by Kim Cattrall: Samantha Jones, a ballsy, beautiful and sexy young woman from the panhandle of Florida who has made her way — and already a name for herself — in the rock ‘n’ roll scene of 1980s NYC.
According to The Wrap, Samantha was teased during last season’s finale. When Carrie places a call to her friend Donna LaDonna, it’s Samantha who answers the phone.
Unfortunately for hardcore Sex and the City fans, neither Charlotte nor Miranda have been cast. It’s unclear if the characters will make an appearance during the second season of The Carrie Diaries.
Fans of the CW drama won’t have to wait very long for the new batch of episodes to premiere on the network. The season is currently scheduled to air on October 25.
If you’re curious to see Lindsey Gort before she makes her debut on the series, then you should consider catching the Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg flick 2 Guns in theaters. Director Baltasar Kormakur’s action flick is slated to hit cinemas on August 2.
