Josh Duhamel: ‘Fergie And I Are Ready’ For Baby [Video]

As Josh Duhamel and Fergie count down the days until the baby arrives, the 40-year-old Transformers star has been surprisingly busy. Duhamel was on the set of independent film Strings being filmed in Winnepeg, Canada last week, where ET Canada hit him up with a bunch of questions about the upcoming arrival of their first baby.

Duhamel admitted that he and Fergie have been getting a lot of baby advice:

“Everyone is saying, ‘You better sleep now. You’re not going to get any when the baby is here.’ I feel we are ready for it and actually looking forward to that.”

As for his hectic pre-baby schedule, he noted that the part in Strings was a supporting turn that allowed him to break out of his usual blockbuster role.

Strings could be an interesting break from some of his other plans, including Michael Bay’s Transformers 4, where Duhamel will appear in a small cameo.

However, it sounded like the star might be more cautious about taking on multiple projects once the baby, which is about seven-and-a-half months along, actually arrives.

“I plan on taking as much time as I can off just before and as much time as possible after…I can’t imagine having a kid and then not being able to be there, that would just drive me crazy.”

It isn’t the first time Josh Duhamel has talked about the upcoming baby. In February, The Inquisitr reported on comments he made on the set of Safe Haven.

Although Duhamel has waited until age 40 to father a child, at that time he said that he’d always had an “affinity for kids and there’s something about me and kids that just click.”

At a press event that same month, he also expressed his excitement at seeing the baby on the ultrasound.

It sounds like Josh Duhamel and Fergie are genuinely excited about their first baby:
