‘Iron Man 3’ Headed To DVD, Blu-Ray This September

Shane Black’s hit sequel Iron Man 3 is coming to DVD and Blu-ray this September.

If you missed the flick in theaters or are just anxious to watch the movie again, then you’ll be able to do so in just a matter of months. Marvel Studios and Disney are wasting absolutely no time getting this thing onto home video.

According to the official press release, Iron Man 3 will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on September 24. However, those who have kicked physical media to the curb can pick up a digital copy of the flick on September 3. However, you won’t get all of the nifty special features available in the packaged version.

The Blu-ray version of the film will feature a number of extras, including a gag reel, deleted and extended scenes, and a commentary from both director Shane Black and co-writer Drew Pearce.

Fans who love feaurettes and behind-the-scenes documentaries will have plenty to pour over once this thing hits retail. In addition to a look at the creation of Iron Man 3, those who pick up the package will also get an exclusive look at Thor: The Dark World.

However, the press release makes no mention of the footage released in China. Although Marvel previously stated the additional scenes would be cut together for a standalone short, it’s unknown if this will find its way onto the Blu-ray. Chances are this footage could be buried in the extended scenes section of the special features.

If you choose to pick up the flick on DVD, there’s a strong possibility you won’t get very many of these awesome special features. Those of you who are still on the fence about Blu-ray should strongly consider grabbing a player ahead of the film’s release on home video.

Did you catch Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 in theaters earlier this year? Do you plan to pick up the film on DVD or Blu-ray on September 24.
