Circuit City has announced it’s shutting down 155 stores by the end of the year. About 7,800 people are expected to lose their jobs.
Here is a full list of the locations being closed:
All of locations affected will be open normally Monday, closed on Tuesday, then re-opened in store-closing sale mode on Wednesday. The stores will be gone for good by December 31.
The move comes amidst an ongoing financial struggle by the nation’s second-top electronics retailer. Combined with dropping sales, reps say the financial climate has changed how vendors deliver merchandise, with payment now being required before shipment. Circuit City had only one profitable quarter over the last year.
