Kimi Räikkönen Wants To Punch Sergio Perez In The Face

Formula One driver, Kimi Räikkönen, has declared that he wants to punch his fellow competitor, Sergio Perez, in the face.

The McLaren driver struggled during the Monaco Grand Prix, and his aggressive driving stance lead to a number of collisions that saw several drivers exit the race because of his tactics.

Kimi Räikkönen particularly suffered because of Perez’s driving stance. The Mexican collided with Räikkönen and gave him a puncture that made the Finn drop from fifth place to 10th.

After the race Räikkönen came up with a new strategy to help Perez learn from his mistakes. An interviewer asked Kimi Räikkönen if other drivers should talk to Sergio Perez about his mistakes, to which Räikkönen stated, “That won’t help. Maybe should punch him in the face.”

However Perez has stated that he wasn’t to blame for the error, remarking, “Kimi did not give me any room at all. I touched the wall on the entry to the corner and I had no room for that. It was really, really a big shame. I overtook [team-mate] Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso [of Ferrari], and Jenson overtook me there. You have to give some space.”

Alonso also talked about his incident with Perez, stating, “I think really I don’t want to take too much attention on this, because the most important thing of the race is that Felipe is good. The second most important thing is that [Nico] Rosberg [and not points leader Sebastian Vettel] won the race, and then with Perez, that he has the car parked [early]. I think that is the only comment I can say.”

He then added, “[Perez] was lucky this year with two or three incidents; in Bahrain, he nearly had contact with Jenson [Button], with me I was off the track to avoid the contact, here I cut the chicane to avoid the contact again. Kimi was not lucky because he didn’t avoid the contact, and at the end he retired. Only McLaren has to be happy with him, all the others we just need to do our work.”
