Taylor Swift Opens ‘Can Of Worms’ Over Justin Bieber, Unintentionally Of Course

Taylor Swift’s less than warm feelings towards Justin Bieber were put on blast at last week’s Billboard Music Awards, when she was seen sticking her tongue out and ‘making a face.’

The reason for her disgusted reaction?

The mere sight of gal-pal Selena Gomez giving her on-off-possibly-on-again ex-beau Bieber a peck on the cheek backstage at the event.

The moment, preserved forever in a gif that quickly went viral, appeared to be a clear sign that Swift did not approve of Gomez’s continued relationship with the Canadian star — platonic or otherwise.

Now, Swift has sparked speculation that her disapproval of Bieber is less about Gomez’s possible romance with the “As Long As You Love Me” singer, and more about a personal rift with the 19-year-old.

Asked in the press room post awards for her reaction to Bieber’s Milestone win — for which she was shortlisted alongside Bruno Mars — the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer pointedly sidestepped, saying:

“Can we have another question?”

Further fuel to that fire came when Swift responded to another question from Access Hollywood, in which she was asked what she and Gomez had whispered when Bieber won the seminal prize.

Swift and Gomez, who are good friends, sat together at the event and watched from the front row as Bieber was booed by some sections of the audience as he accepted the Milestone.

The 23-year-old reportedly replied: “Ohhh, you do not want to know! You do not want to open that can of worms. Especially tonight.”

When one reporter suggested she should pen a song about whatever it was she was implying, Swift quipped: “No, it’s not [me]… I’m fine!”

Then, leaving no room for doubt that her friendship with Gomez was rock solid, Swift told the assembled, “It’s so much more fun when she’s here!”

Gomez and Bieber dated for two years before splitting up in January.

Despite the Spring Breakers actress’ recent radio interview affirmation that she was available, she was later seen with Bieber on more than one occasion when he returned to Los Angeles.

As for Swift, by now a media seasoned world artist who understands the difference between non-loaded, innocuous answers that would have sufficed in the press room and baiting — by choosing instead to offer provocative open-ended statements, the resulting furor can be no surprise.
