Injustice: Gods Among Us has landed a few new DLC characters.
One new DLC character for Injustice: Gods Among Us has been confirmed, and two others are as of yet rumors. Confirmed is Batgirl, Batman’s female counterpart, while two rumored characters may include one who might disappoint DC Comics purists.
This game gives you the chance to prove once and for all (for one fight at least) who would win in a fight between two DC Comics characters, and using the rebooted Mortal Kombat fighting engine, it’s fun and challenging to go about it. You can choose completely human characters, alien-born superhumans (Superman) and some that you imagine would have a hard time even being challenged. One of them, Darkseid, exists so far only as a backup character to interact with as part of the scenery.
Darkseid makes a brief appearance in the Lobo DLC character trailer.
Batgirl was confirmed via video of an Xbox Live Marketplace leak, and while nothing is known of her role in the game, we can still speculate on what she’ll bring to Injustice: Gods Among Us. Seeing as we already have Batman, what would make Batgirl different, other than the obvious body type? Will she use her computer skills and a portable laptop or something as part of her fighting talents? Perhaps she’ll have Robin assisting her offscreen?
Now the rumored characters supported only by examining game code are General Zod, as a nod to the latest Superman film Man of Steel, and the most surprising and somewhat disappointing addition, Scorpion. Yes, the game designed by people who hate Mortal Kombat may be getting one of the most popular MK characters of all time. Why would they do that? We thought they were going to keep it strictly DC Comics this time. Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe was an era we thought they rebooted Mortal Kombat to get away from.
General Zod and Scorpion are still just rumors, though. We only know about Batgirl eventually being released as a DLC character alongside Lobo.
What do you think of the new DLC characters planned and rumored for Injustice: Gods Among Us?
