Lil Wayne Hospitalized Again For Seizure

Lil Wayne has been hospitalized again with a seizure, being taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles late on Tuesday night.

The rapper was reportedly treated and released early Wednesday morning after suffering a single seizure. Representatives for Lil Wayne did not issue a comment on his hospitalization, but a source told People magazine on Wednesday, “Wayne’s great.”

It is not the first time that Lil Wayne has been hospitalized due to seizures. He spent several days in the hospital in March after a similar incident. This trip led to rumors that the rapper was near death, though sources close to Wayne disputed reports and said he was doing fine.

Lil Wayne said back in March that it’s a problem he’s been living with for quite some time.

“The thing is, man, the bad news is, I’m an epileptic, so I’m prone to seizures,” Wayne said in a radio interview. “This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures; y’all just never hear about it. This time it got real bad because I got three of ’em in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to, like, 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died soon. That’s why it was so serious. The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself. That’s typical me, though.”

Last October Lil Wayne also suffered seizures on two separate occasions. Though he initially denied that anything happened, Wayne later admitted that was taking medication to help keep the seizures in check.

A representative for the rapper said: “Lil Wayne was successfully released from the hospital after being treated for a severe migraine and dehydration. He is at home on doctor mandated rest and will return to work soon. He appreciates all of his fans for their support and love.”

Lil Wayne may have been hospitalized, but it doesn’t appear to be slowing him down. He has continued promotional appearances for his new album, I Am Not A Human Being II, and has remained active in the social scene as well.
