Selena Gomez Sued By Fragrance Company, Accused Of Lying

Selena Gomez has been hit with a lawsuit by a fragrance company.

Adrenalina Inc. claim the star failed to honor her promotional duties for a contract that she signed with them in 2011.

The perfume manufacturer, which says the terms of the deal required the 20-year-old to front a multi-item range of products under her own name, is also claiming that Gomez used non-credible reasons to pull out of her obligations.

TMZ reports that Adrenalina says it committed to over $2 million in marketing spend and research and that the company is suing the “Come and Get It” singer for not only damages but wants a court to enforce her contract.

It’s alleged Gomez refused to show up for promotional, effectively leaving the company without a spokesperson.

Michael Weinstein, an attorney for the Spring Breakers actress, firmly denied the allegations in a statement, telling TMZ:

“Any claim that Selena did not meet her promotional obligations is ridiculous, manufactured after Adrenalina was terminated.”

He added: “Selena will vigorously defend this lawsuit, and will soon bring her own lawsuit against Adrenalina for millions in damages.”

While the progress of the lawsuit against Gomez and her forthcoming counter-sue develops, it’s worth noting that the Latin star did launch her “Selena Gomez” fragrance collection in May 2012.

The range was sold exclusively sold by Macy’s retailers and distributed by ID Perfumes — the parent company of Adrenalina Inc.

Adrenalina Inc. have also backed the fragrance launches of Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and Katy Perry.

The company’s lawsuit against Gomez was filed last Friday.

Gomez made the headlines that same day but for an altogether different reason. The ex-Wizards of Waverly Place star was snapped in a clearly intimate pose in an Instagram posted by her on-off and now back on again beau Justin Bieber.

The couple recently reconciled after their relationship broke down at the end of last year.
