The Married Couple Who Have Worn Identical Outfits For 35 Years

Fitchburg, MA – Nancy and Donald Featherstone have dressed identically for almost every day of their lives together.

The Massachusetts couple got engaged in 1976 after Don went down on one knee during their first date.

37 years later, they remain together, having spent 35 of those years sporting matching outfits. As 60-year-old Nancy tells The Sun:

“Two years [after he proposed], I made Don the same shirt I was wearing. We’ve dressed alike ever since. We love it.”

Over those 35 years, dressmaker Nancy has fashioned 600 identical outfits. She believes it’s a neat way of showing how close they are, with the couple even matching when they’re apart. Nancy explains:

“If Don is out of town, he phones me so we can decide what we’ll wear that day.”

Unrelated but pretty rad fact about this couple: 77-year-old artist Don created the famous plastic pink flamingo ornament seen on lawns throughout the 70s and 80s. He won an Ig Nobel Prize for his efforts.
