Trent Reznor Announces Nine Inch Nails Return

On the biggest night that films are celebrated, rocker turned composer Trent Reznor announced the return of his band Nine Inch Nails. Reznor, who has his own Oscar for Best Original Score for The Social Network announced via a letter to his fans that Nine Inch Nails is returning to the stage.

What may be the most exciting news for Ninch Inch Nails fans, Reznor announced the band’s return and that, “The band is reinventing itself from scratch.” What a bold statement!

Fans of Nine Inch Nails have been without the band for four years. Their last tour was back then appropriately titled “Wave Goodbye tour,” and was named the end of an era for Reznor, so he could take on other projects. While those projects awarded him some top notch clout in the film industry, Reznor has gone back to his roots, going back on his statement that Nine Inch Nails isn’t forever.

In 2013 you can expect Trent Reznor and the rest of Nine Inch Nails to make a huge return. The tour for NIN is planned for the summer, and extends into the fall. Not only is NIN headlining their own tour, but will also include a lineup up a few legends including, Eric Avery of Jane’s Addiction, Adrian Belew of King Crimson, and Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv, Alessandro Cortini, and Ilan Rubin.

A statement from Trent Reznor reads:

“Nine Inch Nails are touring this year. I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of playing a show. Calls were made to some friends, lots of new ideas were discussed, and a show was booked – which led to another, which somehow led to a lot of shows.”
