Kanye West Gives Pharrell Williams A Compliment He Usually Gives Himself

Rapper Kanye West may have paid Pharrell Williams the compliment of all compliments!

On Monday, the 38-year-old rapper tweeted a brief comment about Pharrell (also known as "Skateboard P") - a comment that Kanye would usually reserve only for himself.

"Skateboard P is the God."
Nearly one hour prior to that compliment, Kanye tweeted his own review of Pharrell Williams' newest hit song "Freedom" as well as its artistic music video.
"Beautiful song, incredibly shot."
The song was initially released to the rest of the world on June 30, the same day of the official launch of Apple Music.

According to Digital Trends, that was not a coincidence since Pharrell promoted the release of the song and its video via social media with a simple message confirming exclusivity - "Only on Apple Music."

Kanye West is apparently not the only person that has come forward through social media to compliment, commend, and congratulate Pharrell Williams for his "Freedom" release and video. However, the simple fact that Kanye West went as far as calling Pharrell Williams "the God" is likely featured towards the top of the list of compliments.

Over the years, Kanye West has been known for paying himself compliments than his peers within the music industry. On his sixth studio album, Yeezus, Kanye drew a lot of attention to himself with the song, "I Am A God."

West made headlines by not biting his tongue in reference to the controversial song during a September 2013 interview with BBC.
"[W]hen someone comes up and says something like, 'I am a god,' everybody says 'Who does he think he is?' I just told you who I thought I was. A god. I just told you. That's who I think I am."
Therefore, based on his own confessed viewpoints on the issue, it must have taken a lot for Kanye West to offer such a "divine" compliment to Pharrell Williams.
