Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton: Blake Responds To Wedding Planning Question

Rumors about Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton potentially tying the knot have been flying recently, so Blake couldn’t avoid questions about the future of his relationship with Gwen during a radio interview. The country singer has been busy promoting his new album, Texoma Shore, and quite a few of the songs on the record were inspired by his girlfriend. However, fans shouldn’t misconstrue the many references to the love of his life as evidence that wedding bells will soon be ringing for Gwen and Blake.

During a recent interview with Pittsburgh radio station 99.5 The Wolf, Blake Shelton was asked whether his life is on the same trajectory described in “I’ll Name the Dogs,” the first single released off Texoma Shore. The love song is about a strong desire to get married and have kids, but Blake seemed to suggest that he has not yet asked Gwen Stefani to marry him when the topic of wedding planning came up.

“I don’t think we’re close to calling a wedding planner,” Blake said. “But I’ve never been more excited just looking ahead into my future and my life, where it is right now. It’s pretty exciting, I’ll tell you that.”

Blake’s response contradicts a previous report that many Shefani fans were hanging their hopes on. Last August, Us Weekly reported that Gwen and Blake had hired a celebrity wedding planner. A source claimed that marriage was a “priority” for the couple, but they hadn’t yet picked a wedding date.

During his radio interview, Shelton also addressed the nonstop tabloid stories about his relationship with Gwen Stefani. Gossip Cop recently debunked one such report alleging that Stefani is certain that Shelton won’t propose to her before the year ends, so there may still be hope that a Shefani engagement will happen in the near future.

“What the hell,” Shelton said. “If you pick up the latest tabloids, we’ve been married for a while, anyway.”

Gwen’s busy schedule may be partially to blame for why she and Blake aren’t planning a wedding just yet. Blake revealed that his girlfriend is insanely busy because she has “her hand in so many different things.” However, he doesn’t think that she’ll let her lengthy list of commitments stop her from accompanying him on his upcoming “Country Music Freaks” tour. As reported by Taste of Country, the 14-date tour will kick off the day after Valentine’s Day in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Blake believes that Gwen will join him as often as she can when he hits the road, and he said that she’ll even “clear things out” to make time for him.

According to E! News, today marks Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s two-year anniversary. So while Gwen might not have a ring on her finger just yet, Shefani fans still have a reason to celebrate their favorite couple.
