‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8, Episode 3 Preview: Rick’s Fate, Plus The Saviors Close In

Episode 2 of AMC’s The Walking Dead Season 8 ended with Rick Grimes being confronted by a face from his past. While many fans predicted this familiar face would be Heath, it turned out they were wrong. But, will this character turn out to be friend or foe?

Ever since the Morales family decided to go to Birmingham rather than travel to the CDC with the rest of Rick’s group in Season 1 of The Walking Dead, fans have been speculating over what happened to them. Fans of Fear the Walking Dead suspected the Morales family might even be a crossover character between the two programs that are set in the same universe.

However, now Morales has appeared in Episode 2 of The Walking Dead Season 8, meaning it is not likely he will crossover between the two shows. As yet, it is unclear what has happened to the rest of his family. It is also uncertain if Morales will side with Rick’s group or not.

Unfortunately, the synopsis released by AMC doesn’t give any clues about Morales and Rick moving forward into the next episode of The Walking Dead. The synopsis for Episode 3 (titled “Monsters”) of Season 8 is as follows.

“Conflict with the Saviors leads to unintended consequences for the Hilltop, the Kingdom, and Alexandria; morality proves tricky in wartime.”

While fans will likely have to wait until Episode 3 to find out about Morales, the trailer for the next episode hints at more trouble to come in the developing war between Rick and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

Ezekiel (Khary Payton) gives an empowering speech about how each victory will lead to the subsequent ones. However, as the Independent points out, a “deadly showdown” appears to be in the cards for Episode 3 of The Walking Dead. This is certainly evident by the end of the trailer below.

While Ezekiel is claiming victory, by the end of the trailer his group has been surrounded by what appears to be the Saviors. Only by tuning into Episode 3 of The Walking Dead will reveal their fate.

Along with the synopsis and trailer, AMC has also released the following images for Episode 3.
