WWE Rumors: Kurt Angle May Have More Matches, Possibly ‘WrestleMania’ PPV

After Sunday night’s main event match at TLC 2017, WWE superstar Kurt Angle hinted he may have a few more matches left to give the fans. Angle participated with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in a 3-on-5 handicap match at the big pay-per-view event in Minnesota, with the Raw General Manager drawing chants of “You’ve still got it” as he performed some big moves. These included the Angle Slam as well as his trademark Ankle Lock. Angle even looked like he was out of commission at one point in the match, only to return to help Rollins and Ambrose Triple Powerbomb The Miz for the pinfall win.

Right after the big WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2017 pay-per-view had ended, an episode of Raw Talk aired on the WWE Network. It included several guests such as AJ Styles, WWE Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, and the Raw general manager, Kurt Angle. In particular, Angle spoke of how great it felt to get back in the ring and said he hadn’t envisioned being back for a match at this point. He suggested that he had been thinking he might work toward something at WrestleMania or another major PPV, but he had short notice and had to do his best to help out Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose who were outnumbered.

In a video clip posted to the WWE’s Twitter account, Angle got to take a look at some of the highlights from his match. In the clip, Angle made his surprising return to the match after being taken backstage by referees and other personnel. Earlier on, it had appeared he was out of it after Braun Strowman smashed Angle through a table at ringside. However, the Raw GM ended up making a return to his theme music. He stormed down the ramp to hit his Angle Slam on Cesaro, before hitting another to smash Cesaro through a table set up on the ramp.

Later during their talk, Renee Young asked Angle when he might step into the ring again for another match.

“I’m gonna have to talk to my wife first. Once I get her approval, we’ll see what goes on,” Angle replied.

The fact Kurt Angle stepped in on short notice was definitely a win for the fans. While he did show his age and a bit of ring rust, this sort of match was the perfect comeback for Angle. For the most part, he got to be involved in using the various weapons of the match to beat up his opponents. The Angle Slams were certainly a great touch and it shows that given the right opponent, Angle may have a good WrestleMania match still in him.

Could he and Triple H be headed for a clash on “the grandest stage of them all,” or will WWE have another opponent for the Olympic star?
